Grandchildren play a big role in making the residents feel cheerful and content. We understand it might be a difficult transition to see Granny or Granddad in a new home, but it is always a lovely experience to see grandparents enjoy time with their little ones.
Visits at Doddington Lodge are encouraged as we feel frequent visits help grandparents to stay connect, feel wanted and retain their family relationships. We recognise that it may be a confusing time for young grandchildren when their grandparents are living with an illness such as Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, but we are here to support you every step of the way, whether that is talking to the children about understanding these illnesses or just being on hand.
Grandchildren are welcomed as part of the family here at Doddington Lodge and we want you to feel as at home as possible. We appreciate the strong bonds between grandparents and their grandchildren, and we want to maintain them.
There are many things to enjoy whilst visiting Doddington Lodge, you can spend family time dining in the modern bistro area or have a quiet stroll around the sensory gardens that are surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire countryside.
