A healthy diet and keeping hydrated is a key factor in overall well-being. At Doddington Lodge, we appreciate how important nutrition is to keep our residents fit and healthy, so we offer a delicious daily menu which provides our residents with a varied healthy choice. All of the daily meals are freshly prepared by our professional, fully trained chefs.

A balanced diet is incredibly important to retain throughout all of our resident’s life style, to keep their physical and mental state healthy, especially when caring for a resident with Dementia. People with Dementia can sometimes find difficultly preparing food, drinks and sometimes have a complete change in appetite or taste. We carefully consider likes and dislikes. However, we understand the illness can cause a change in taste se we set in place a dietary plan, that will be in constant evaluation where our dementia residents are always given a choice, as well as meeting dietary requirements to provide a healthy, nutritional diet.

Our professional chefs create delicious, fresh daily menus that all of our residents enjoy. Meal times at Doddington Lodge are where our staff and residents can all enjoy some time spent together whilst enjoying homemade cakes, afternoon tea, fruit or freshly prepared hot meals. We all enjoy mealtimes in the newly refurbished, modern bistro dinging area, as our residents and the members of the team get to spend a bit of time together whilst enjoying their meals. We believe that helping the residents feel independent and at home is key. Dining is a social experience where they can have a glass of wine and a chat with other residents and team members.

As well as baking delicious treats and preparing fresh fruit for a snack, our chef prepares meals individually specific to each resident’s individual dietary requirements, this allows all of our residents to get the nutrition and health benefits they need day to day.

Our residents well-being is a crucial element to what we work to achieve every day. Our meal plans keep our residents strong and healthy, but we do consider their mental well-being one of the most important factors of day to day life at Doddington Lodge. The well-being we provide keeps the residents active and young. We have beautiful sensory gardens that are lovely for a stroll where the stunning countryside views surround you. As well as activities being available to take part in across the whole day, everyday. We believe in keeping the mind and body fit and healthy.
